Feederism Glossary

A comprehensive reference of terms used in feederism communities — from core roles and dynamics to community-specific language. The most complete feederism vocabulary guide available.

Gorge Team

A living reference for the language used in feederism communities. Terms evolve — this glossary reflects current common usage.

Core roles

Feeder

A person who takes an active or supportive role in another person's weight gain journey. Feeders may prepare food, offer encouragement, participate in a weight-gain relationship dynamic, or simply be supportive community members.

Feedee

A person who is intentionally gaining weight, often with the support or encouragement of a feeder. The feedee's goals and comfort always define the direction and pace of the dynamic.

Gainer

Someone who is intentionally gaining weight. "Gainer" is broader than "feedee" — it includes people who gain independently, without a dedicated feeder. Gainers may be part of feederism communities or simply tracking personal weight gain journeys.

Mutual Gainer (Mutual / Mutualist)

A person who gains weight alongside a partner, with both people sharing the experience as equals. Mutual gaining relationships tend to de-emphasize the feeder/feedee distinction.

FA (Fat Admirer)

Someone who is attracted to larger bodies. FAs may be feeders, may be simply appreciative of larger bodies without active participation, or may have no feederism interest beyond aesthetic attraction.

Encourager

An encourager supports and motivates a gainer or feedee without necessarily being in a full feeding relationship. The role is more emotional and verbal than logistical.

Dynamics and relationships

Feederism

The broader community, lifestyle interest, and relationship dynamic centered around intentional weight gain. Feederism encompasses a spectrum from casual interest to central relationship identity.

Feeding Dynamic

The specific relational context between a feeder and feedee — including roles, expectations, frequency, and consent boundaries. Every feeding dynamic is different and defined by the people involved.

Stuffing

A practice within feederism involving eating to a state of fullness or beyond. Stuffing sessions are a common element of feeding dynamics and weight gain journeys that some participants track and document.

Gaining Journey

The personal process of intentionally gaining weight over time. A gaining journey typically involves goal-setting, tracking, and often community sharing. On platforms like Gorge, gaining journeys can be documented with photos, measurements, and session logs.

Soft Feederism

A relationship dynamic that emphasizes care, appreciation, and gentle encouragement without the more intense elements sometimes associated with feederism. Often characterized by emotional support and shared meals.

Community and platform terms

WG (Weight Gain)

Abbreviation used extensively in feederism communities to refer to weight gain — as a goal, topic, or content category.

Progress Pics

Photos documenting a gainer's or feedee's body change over time. Progress documentation is a significant part of community participation, though privacy settings determine who can see these images.

Session Log

A record of a feeding or stuffing session, often including what was eaten, how much, and how the person felt. Session logging is a tracking feature on dedicated platforms like Gorge.

GW (Goal Weight)

The target weight a gainer or feedee is working toward. Goal weights are personal and can change as a journey evolves.

CW (Current Weight)

A person's current weight, often shared in community posts to document progress.

SW (Starting Weight)

The weight at which a person began their gaining journey, used as a baseline for tracking progress.

Body and size terminology

Chubby / Chub

Common community term for someone who is moderately overweight. Used descriptively and often affectionately within feederism communities.

BBW / BHM

BBW (Big Beautiful Woman) and BHM (Big Handsome Man) are terms used in size acceptance and feederism-adjacent communities to describe larger-bodied people with positive framing.

Belly

Within feederism communities, "belly" often specifically refers to abdominal weight gain — a common area of focus for gainers and feeders.

Immobility

A subgenre of feederism focused on extreme weight gain to the point of reduced mobility. This is a fantasy or interest for some community members, distinct from the broader feederism community, and raises distinct ethical and safety considerations.

Insight

Terminology in feederism communities evolves continuously. This glossary reflects common usage as of 2026, but language shifts as communities grow and change.

Consent

Explicit, ongoing agreement between all parties in any feederism dynamic. Consent applies to physical activities, content sharing, and visibility of personal information.

Limits / Boundaries

Personal parameters set by a feedee or gainer that define how far they are comfortable going — in terms of weight, activities, or relationship dynamics. Respecting limits is non-negotiable.

Hard Limit

A firm boundary that cannot be negotiated or pushed past. In feederism dynamics, hard limits might include specific weight targets, content restrictions, or relationship parameters.

Safe Word / Check-in

A signal used to pause or stop a dynamic. Especially relevant in more intense feeding relationships, check-ins are regular conversations about wellbeing, comfort, and direction.

Gorge is built for people who want a safer, more private space for their feederism journey.
